Outdoor fire ritual under a large spreading tree with thick branches. A man with long dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead, wearing an orange saffron wrap, sits behind a silver and gold ritual setup, with a microphone on a stand before him and a metal bowl at right. A brass bell hangs from a branch above. In the foreground a flame burns in a fire pit beside banana or mango leaves and yellow-orange offerings on a white stone platform. A second man in orange clothing sits at the left edge, bending over the fire. Dusk light filters through the leaves. The man in the wrap appears to be a person, based on the long swept hair and saffron wrap, and he is shown in person.

The figure holds a brass bowl and a silver ladle over the fire altar, with marigold petals scattered on the bricks. A microphone on a stand stands beside, and a second person in white clothing and an orange cloth on the left holds a long wooden staff. Brass pots, a small brass lamp, a red flower and bundles of sticks lie on the blue mat. The description carries a person cue: the robe is saffron and the hair is long and swept back, and the figure is leading the ritual. The scene is an outdoor fire ritual.2006-09-21 +1 copiesSeptember 21 20062006-09-21 +1 copiesA seated man in an orange saffron wrap, bare-shouldered, with long dark wavy hair, pours an offering from a silver ladle over a fire pit during a homa outdoors. A small clip-on microphone sits beside him. Behind him a large banyan tree with tangled aerial roots fills the background. In the foreground a brass vessel holds offerings and marigold flowers, and smoke rises from the fire at right. Appearance-based label: Swamiji (probable), with long swept-back hair and a saffron wrap, performing the ritual offering.2006-09-21A photograph of an outdoor homa ceremony on bare earth beneath trees. A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a red forehead mark wears an orange saffron robe and sits on a carved wooden chair in front of a low square fire pit built of white bricks decorated with marigold petals. He holds a ladle over a brass bowl and a silver ritual vessel rests before him, with a small brass bell and a brass kalasha nearby. A microphone on a stand is positioned at his side. Behind him a young man in a white kurta with an orange shawl plays a metal instrument, and another figure in white stands further back. A mat, a folded cloth and a few brass vessels lie on the ground to the left. The man's appearance (long hair, orange robe, distinctive ritual setting) is consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji, so this is a probable identification.2006-09-21
