He wears a long red and yellow marigold garland, a rudraksha mala with a ceremonial gold pendant, and a vibhuti or kumkum mark on his forehead. Beside him is an ornate brass pillar-style shrine or kalasha-topped structure draped with white and red flower garlands and leafy green branches, with a small deity murti visible inside. A second person with a white forehead mark is partially visible at the lower edge. Palm trees and dark foliage fill the background. Strong warm lamplight glows against the evening sky.2016-10-03December 23 20162016-12-23Outdoor ritual scene under trees. A central figure in saffron-orange robes wears a white flower garland and a rudraksha mala, and holds a brass oil lamp with a bright flame in one hand while a small vessel is in the other. Behind him, several men in orange robes with gold-coloured beaded necklaces stand with hands folded in prayer, and one bearded man holds a tall golden trident staff. He holds a silver lamp with a flame in one hand and a silver handbell in the other, with wisps of smoke rising to the left. A red-and-gold decorated edge of a ceremonial seat is visible at the left, and a few people sit in the dim background. Dark trees fill the background. Appearance-based label: a person, a ritual performer with ornate beads and orange-red garments.2013-04-01July 07 20092009-07-07March 02 20182018-03-02A bearded man with long swept-back hair and a white-and-red tripundra mark on his forehead stands under an open tin-roofed pavilion, holding a silver lamp with a flame and a small brass bowl. He wears a rust-red garment over his bare shoulders and a multi-strand rudraksha mala with gold beads, plus a fresh garland of white and pink flowers. Behind him, a crowd of devotees in orange and saffron robes stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, and several women in white and gold-bordered saris are visible. Umbrellas, palm trees and green foliage frame the outdoor ritual setting. The man's appearance is compatible with a person, shown performing an aarti-style lamp offering in front of the devotees.2017-01-14Night photograph outdoors in a courtyard beside a red wall and potted plants, with a bright work light and a plume of smoke or incense haze behind a central man. A bare-chested man in a maroon-brown dhoti and shawl stands barefoot with palms pressed together in namaskar, wearing a long multicoloured flower garland of yellow, white and red blooms, his long dark hair hanging down his back. To his left a man in an orange dhoti holds a red object, and further left stand men in saffron and white ritual clothes, one wearing a rudraksha mala and holding a long staff. A white-clad man at left wears a rudraksha mala. The setting suggests a ritual welcome or worship. The central figure's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity.2016-11-12 +1 copies
