The murti wears a tall crown, a white and gold-bordered dhoti, and holds a ceremonial staff. The boy's back faces the camera, and a metal structure and bright sky appear behind him. The bronze figure is a statue, not a person.2017-07-24July 03 20172017-07-03October 07 20112011-10-07A close photograph of an abhishekam being performed on a small bronze murti of Subramanya (Murugan) holding a spear (vel) and a flag. A hand in a red sari-style garment with gold-bordered hem and gold bangles pours water from a metal vessel over the figure, which stands in a shallow basin with yellow flowers floating nearby. Water cascades down the bronze, and an ornate gold-toned wooden structure appears at right.2011-11-01June 10 20042004-06-10A shaven-headed priest in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bordered dhoti and a gold necklace pours liquid from a brass pot over a golden statue of a standing sage. The statue has long hair, a white loincloth and a raised right hand, and it stands on a gold-ornamented pedestal inside an ornate golden tray. Behind them is a grey stone pillar with carved figures and a red-and-gold metal gate with a green hedge. Liquid streams down the statue's body, consistent with abhishekam. Brass bells and small offering vessels are visible on a stone ledge.2010-12-19 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual abhishekam at an outdoor shrine. A young man in an orange-red robe, his bare arms raised, pours water from a golden kalasha-like pot over a small bronze statue of a standing figure with hands joined in anjali. The statue stands on a raised pedestal inside an ornate gold arched frame with floral carvings. A brass vessel sits on the wet platform at right, and a red brick wall with repeated shrine niches forms the background behind metal railings.2017-07-03Close photo of abhishekam being performed on a small bronze deity murti of Subramanya, a standing figure holding a spear (vel) and other implements. A person in an orange-red sari with gold border and gold earrings and bangles pours a liquid from a white metal kalasha-style pot over the figure, which is streaming with the liquid. The bronze base sits in a shallow golden tray with liquid pooling around it, and a gold-decorated structure is visible in the background.2011-11-01A shaved-headed priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with gold-edged border pours water from a silver kalasha over a small bronze deity murti during an abhishekam. He wears a long gold bead necklace with a pendant and red-brown rudraksha-style bands on his upper arms and wrist. Behind him a woman in a blue sari stands near a gold-framed altar, and a golden staff and carved stone pillars frame the temple interior. The bronze figure is pouring-washed on a brass tray.2011-11-01A shaved-headed priest in orange robes and a gold beaded necklace leans over a gilded altar, pouring or wiping with a round silver plate while handling a silver-coloured murti. Two metal deity figures stand draped in orange cloth, one holding a staff and wearing a crown, the other a smaller figure beside it. Their bodies and the altar are coated with fruit, nuts, pomegranate seeds and shredded coconut, with a red wooden stand beneath. A carved stone shrine and a small oil lamp stand behind. Ritual abhishekam offering. The priest shows a white tilak on his forehead and does not match the page's a person description on appearance alone, so identity is unsure.2011-10-07
