A man in orange saffron robes with a hood-like drape, a gold-bead mala necklace and white marks on his forearm pours liquid from a silver pot over a dark stone shivalinga on a black pitha. A bearded man in orange robes and a gold mala stands beside him with hands folded. Golden-orange liquid runs down the lingam and base, and a pale sculpted figure seated in the foreground is also being bathed. Behind them are carved grey stone pillars and an orange cloth hanging.2009-12-16A priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl pours liquid from a silver vessel onto a dark stone Shivalinga on a raised base. Behind him stand gilded deity murtis with crowns and ornate jewelry, and a garland of marigolds and red flowers hangs in multiple colours. A woman in a green sari with a pink border and a jeweled necklace stands at right beside the murtis. The setting is a temple sanctum with carved stone walls. The pouring suggests abhishekam ritual bathing of the linga.2011-03-03December 16 20092009-12-16A photograph of a ritual abhishekam on a large black stone shivalinga, which is being bathed in yellow liquid poured from a gold-patterned metal pot held by a man in orange robes with a white ash mark on his forehead and a red dot, wearing a gold-bead necklace. Behind him stands a bearded man in orange robes with a gold pendant necklace and dark curly hair, and to the left a young man in white clothing with an orange shawl and gold necklace holds a silver tray. The yellow liquid streams down the linga onto a base, and a stone pillar with a white ornament is visible at the upper left.2009-12-16December 16 20092009-12-16March 04 20192019-03-04
