March 04 20192019-03-04March 04 20192019-03-04Evening procession on a dirt road with a large group of saffron-robed children and young people in orange clothes and white forehead markings. In the centre, a figure in a rust-orange turban and dark-orange robe with a gold-coloured long garland walks forward holding a trident-topped staff, with a silver umbrella raised above. On the left, a drummer beats a large drum and others carry curved brass horns. Silver staffs and tall poles rise behind, with strings of lights on a building at left and dusk sky above.2013-07-22September 03 20172017-09-03Night photo of a procession on a dirt ground lit by a bright street lamp, with strings of coloured fairy lights in the background. Around two dozen people in saffron-orange robes and head wraps walk together, some with hands pressed in anjali. A drummer at the right carries a large white drum and beats it while walking. Several figures wear white and gold garments and others carry small items. The procession appears to be a ritual walk, and no individual is identifiable as a particular person here.2018-03-02Evening procession on a dirt road at dusk under a blue-grey sky. A central figure in an orange-brown cloth and a large gold-toned garland walks forward holding a tall silver trident-like staff, with a silver ceremonial parasol behind. Around them, young devotees in orange and saffron robes with red borders walk in step, many with white-painted faces and forehead markings. Drummers on the left play a large drum, and a long brass horn is raised at the centre. Red, yellow and blue draped cloth canopies line the right side, with flagpoles and a tent behind the crowd. The figure at centre has distinctive long hair and ornate adornments, a person cue, but the appearance is not clear enough to confirm identity.2013-07-22November 17 20172017-11-17Night photograph of a temple-ground procession with a large crowd. In the foreground, several boys in saffron-orange dhotis, orange turbans and rudraksha malas play large silver drums with sticks, bare-chested with white markings on their arms and chests. Behind them, more young players in orange and devotees in white dhotis and white clothing stand in the courtyard. A yellow umbrella and lit lamps appear at the upper right, with a pillared shelter behind the crowd.2017-09-03September 15 20162016-09-15August 25 20172017-08-25August 25 20172017-08-25Night photograph of a procession with young drummers in saffron-orange dhotis and rudraksha malas, bare-chested with white forehead and body markings and orange head wraps, playing white round drums with sticks. A woman in an orange sari with gold border stands at left beside a video camera on a tripod. Behind them a trumpet player raises a brass horn and a crowd of devotees in white and cream clothing stands before a red corrugated metal fence and trees.
