Behind the lingam stand two gilded metal deity murtis: the taller one wears a red turban, a trident and a jewelled necklace, and the other wears a red and gold sari with a crown and ornaments. Both are framed by yellow, red and purple flower garlands forming an arch, and a brass oil lamp stands at the right edge. The scene depicts abhishekam, a ritual bathing of the lingam.2009-12-28Outdoor temple ritual at a shrine decorated with thick garlands of yellow marigolds and red-and-white flower strands. A figure in an orange saffron garment with a loose wrap stands at left, lifting a metal vessel with a perforated cage-like top over a black stone shivalinga-style pillar. Behind it, two large gilded deity murtis sit on a pedestal, one wearing a crown, heavy jewelled necklaces and a red and green draped garment. A dark maroon cloth with a bull emblem and a dove logo rests on the altar, and brass lamps and a brass frame with a small figure sit in the foreground. The scene suggests an abhishekam offering.2007-01-01
