Behind her, a bald man in maroon robes and a rudraksha mala holds a lamp as well, while a photographer in an orange shirt takes pictures. The shrine has three figures: a seated devotional statue in a maroon robe and red-brown beaded necklace with a maroon turban, and two standing deity murtis with crowns, silver-and-gold jeweled garments and garlands of yellow and red marigolds. Pink and white flowers, a kalasha-like vessel and a purple cloth fill the foreground.2014-06-28 +1 copiesA photograph of a man in a flowing yellow dhoti and wrap, wearing a long gold necklace, standing at left and holding a silver lamp or arati plate with a flame toward two large gilded deity murti seated on a throne. The murti wear yellow garments, a golden crown, gold jewellery and a red and yellow flower garland. Yellow, orange and purple marigold and rose garlands surround the throne, with a gold-framed arch behind. The scene suggests an aarti or puja offering at a temple shrine. The standing man's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role as the worshipper.2010-12-23A standing man in an orange saffron robe with a white garland and sandalwood forehead mark performs a ritual at a shrine, holding a brass vessel and a small bell-like lamp near a richly decorated deity pair. The two deity murtis are dressed in red and teal silks, with crowns and jewellery, framed by an arch of yellow, purple and red marigold garlands. Brass oil lamps stand at the sides, and a golden kalasha-like pot sits at the centre with flowers before a gold-covered offering table. A seated devotee in orange with a garland is partly visible at the lower left.2009-12-29A photograph of a temple puja inside a shrine. A long-haired man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, with a forehead marking and gold armlets, holds a lit flame on a brass lamp (aarti) toward ornately decorated deity murtis. The deity figures wear multicoloured garlands and a silver-embellished robe, and a golden arch frames the shrine. Two attendants in orange garments stand at left holding offering trays. Marigold petals lie on the floor, and a draped white and yellow cloth covers a platform. Probable Swamiji is the man performing the aarti, identified by his long swept-back hair, ornate gold jewellery and saffron clothing.2011-11-29 +1 copiesA temple photograph of a pada puja at a Shiva temple. A man in a purple dhoti and matching shawl, with gold bangles and a gold necklace, holds a silver plate and pours or offers from it toward the image. Beside him, a priest in an orange ochre cloth stands with his arm extended over the lingam-shaped base. Behind them, two gold-coloured deity murtis are dressed in purple and orange garments, with crowns and gold ornaments, framed by a golden arch and a large arrangement of red, yellow, white and purple flower garlands. The scene is lit by warm temple lighting.2011-12-14December 23 20102010-12-23
