At centre, a man in an orange robe and a multi-strand purple and white flower garland, with a rudraksha mala and a golden trident-topped staff, walks barefoot; his long dark hair is swept back and he wears a red forehead mark. Beside him, a woman in a white sari with a gold border carries a silver plate of offerings with a red cloth. Further left, a man in a black shirt and trousers with a white forehead mark holds a small object, and an older woman in a white sari smiles. Other devotees in white follow along, with a flag and umbrellas behind, and a white kolam floor design is visible in the foreground.2006-12-31Photo of a ritual meal inside a bamboo-screened open hall at Aadi Kailaasa. Several people in white clothes with orange shawls sit on mats and banana leaves, while a woman in white is bending forward to serve food to a seated girl. Another woman in white stands nearby, and a large metal pot and a brass vessel sit at the left. A portrait of a bearded man in white and orange is visible at the upper right edge, but no one is clearly identifiable as a person in the visible scene. The setting suggests a communal offering or annadan style meal.2006-10-12March 04 20202020-03-04December 20 20182018-12-20 +1 copiesApril 28 20182018-04-28March 04 20202020-03-04September 27 20172017-09-27 +1 copiesJune 6 20252025-06-06 +2 copiesOutdoor ritual aarti at a covered pavilion with a banner of multicoloured triangular pennants overhead. Several priests in white dhotis and shawls, some bare-chested, stand holding tall brass multi-tiered oil lamps with flaming wicks, arms extended forward. Behind them a row of seated and standing devotees, many women in saffron, blue and purple saris, watch and fold hands. Long tables in the foreground hold brass plates and offerings on banana leaves, and a seated woman in orange and cream sari with a red-and-white forehead mark sits at the lower left. A man in an orange cloth stands in the middle, and a professional camera on a crane arm is mounted at the upper right. Plain white sky and green trees form the background.2012-07-03
