Photo 11728852December 14 20162016-12-14A photograph of a decorated shrine with a deity murti of Murugan seated in the centre, adorned with garlands of white and yellow flowers, purple and pink blooms and a peacock-feather backdrop, flanked by two smaller figures. In front, on the right, a seated figure in saffron-orange robes, an orange turban, a gold-and-bead necklace, a rudraksha mala and white flower garlands, with hands raised in greeting, appears to be a cut-out or printed image pasted onto the scene, so it is treated as a depiction. Fruit, bananas, flower offerings and a brass lamp lie on the floor below.2026-02-01July 12 20132013-07-12 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple shrine decorated with white, yellow and purple flower garlands and red curtains. Behind the garlands stands a deity murti, a bronze figure of a seated deity with a tall ornate crown and gold jewellery, flanked by two smaller female figures. In the foreground, a large cut-out portrait of a bearded man with a smiling face and an orange-saffron turban with a bindi wears a saffron garment, a rudraksha mala and a gold ceremonial necklace, hands folded in greeting, with a red and white flower garland around his neck. A man in a white shirt stands at the right edge, and a partly visible man with yellow sandalwood marks on his forehead appears at the left. Fruits, bananas and a pineapple lie at the base of the altar. Standing at upper right is a life-size printed or painted cutout figure in an orange and yellow turban and saffron-and-gold robes, wearing a large rudraksha mala, a white ceremonial necklace and a garland of pink and white flowers. Three deity murtis sit on a low base in front, each draped with white and pink flower garlands; the central figure wears a dark blue and orange silk drape. Appearance cues on the cutout (turban, rudraksha mala, saffron clothing) are consistent with Swamiji (probable), but this is a depiction, not a physical person. No physical people are visible.2024-04-14September 05 20132013-09-05November 17 20132013-11-17A decorated shrine arrangement with three gilded deity murtis on golden arched thrones: on the left a silver-toned figure with a trident and peacock feather, in the centre a small dark-skinned murti in a garland, and on the right a murti in a white and gold embroidered dress, all draped in pink rose garlands. Behind them a large printed portrait shows a smiling man in an orange turban, orange robes and a multi-strand rudraksha mala, a printed picture rather than a physical person. Hanging bells, tassels, white flower garlands and a small bird ornament frame the scene. No physical people are visible.2020-10-20Photo 11737718September 01 20132013-09-01November 05 20132013-11-05
