A night-time outdoor ritual at an open ground under electric lights. A smiling man seated on a folding metal chair wears a saffron-orange robe and an orange head cloth, with long hair and hands in a gesture near a plate of flowers. Before him a white-saried older woman with grey hair bends forward with bare feet on a woven mat, while a man in white shirt and white dhoti stands beside a white-painted pole and a man in a cream shirt smiles at right. Behind them a small shrine with a Ganesha-style deity murti and decorated altar cloths, brass vessels and flower offerings.2008-11-11Night-time outdoor photograph of a ceremonial gathering on a dirt ground under tube lights. A figure in orange robes and an orange turban sits on a folding chair with a white cloth draped over its back, smiling, with bare feet on a green mat. Facing him, a man in white kneels with palms pressed together, while two men in white shirts and white dhotis stand with hands folded, and an older woman in a pale pink sari stands at the right edge. Behind them a man in white sits before a small harmonium-style setup, and a shrine holds deity murti with garlands and a framed portrait draped in a flower garland, lit by an oil lamp. On the right, a long-haired person in an orange saffron robe sits on a white-covered seat on a red carpeted platform beside a table with a water bottle and a small electric fan. Several people in white clothes, a man in a red shirt, and a woman in a white sari with gold border stand near the platform, and a woman in a teal blouse kneels on the carpet. The seated figure's appearance matches a person through long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, and the platform setting suggests a dais, but the figure is not clearly identifiable.2008-05-19Outdoor evening photograph at night at a temple-style setting. A seated person in orange-saffron robes and an orange head wrap sits on a folding chair at left, smiling, with bare feet and hands resting in the lap. In front of him, a man in white shirt and white dhoti kneels on a woven mat with palms pressed together in greeting. At right, a man in a cream striped shirt and white dhoti stands with hands folded. Nearby, a table holds a water bottle and books beside a standing fan. Around him, devotees in white clothes and a woman in a maroon sari sit or stand on the ground, and a crowd fills the background beyond rope barriers and bamboo poles.2008-05-19Evening photograph at an outdoor temple area with a tiled floor and a shrine behind, holding a murti of a deity pair and brass lamps.
