Inside a plain tiled hall with pale blue walls and cream doorways, a man in an orange saffron cloth and matching orange head wrap stands at left with hands clasped, watching work in progress. Three men sit on the floor, unfolding and sorting white cloths with red borders, some stacked in piles, while orange cloths and folded fabrics lie around them. Behind, orange and multicoloured flags lean against the wall beside a doorway with a decorated pennant hung inside. Several water jugs stand at the left edge. The scene shows preparation of cloth for a religious gathering.

A man in saffron robes and an orange turban stands at left, gesturing, while a man in white with an orange shawl stands behind him. A photograph of a small, worn room with peeling plaster walls and an iron grille door. A standing man in a white shirt and white trousers holds a length of red cloth wound around a stick. Seated on a teal mat, a young man in white with an orange shawl, a woman in white with an orange shawl and rudraksha beads, a woman in white with a bead necklace, and a Western woman in a white top are working with red cloth, rope and small brass items. Metal boxes and brass objects sit on the floor behind them.

A courtyard scene with several people in white clothing and orange or yellow shawls handling long red and pink cloths. A young man in a white turban on the left holds a red cloth, while others in white stand around a narrow arched doorway in a weathered whitewashed wall. Strings of colourful fabric bunting hang overhead. The group appears to be preparing or tying the cloths together as part of a practical task, with no visible instruments or a person clearly identifiable by appearance.
