A dense crowd fills a festival lane beside a bamboo-and-banana-leaf pavilion during an outdoor event. A tall umbrella-like canopy in orange, green and multicolour with white dove motifs and gold fringe is carried above a procession, and a second decorated parasol with a gold rim stands beside it. Many people in white shirts, saffron and orange saris, and light clothing press forward, some with folded hands. Large printed banners in Tamil line the lane, one showing a framed portrait of a bearded man in orange and a woman with a draped head. A shaved-headed man in white is near the left edge, but no one can be confidently identified from appearance.
