A photograph of a richly decorated seated figure, apparently a statue or murti rather than a living person, placed on a gold-coloured pedestal beneath an ornate golden arch and a gilded umbrella with leaf-shaped pendants. The figure wears a brown-and-orange garment, a red velvet drape, a jewelled necklace with red and green stones, a red turban-style crown, and holds a staff and a raised hand gesture. Garlands of yellow and pink flowers surround the figure, with flower petals scattered at its base. Two small gold-painted attendant figures in kneeling, praying poses flank the pedestal. The setting appears to be a ceremonial display within a hall. No physical people are visible.2020-07-05A life-sized golden statue of a seated male figure on an ornate golden throne, depicted as a deity or guru murti. The figure wears a deep maroon turban with gold ornaments and a crescent moon above it, a layered multi-strand jewelled necklace with red, green and white stones, a long gold bead and pearl garland, and a jasmine garland. Deep red velvet drapes the body, and the hands are gilded in mudra-like poses. Gold-leaf decorations and a green embroidered silk border frame the scene.2020-04-27January 04 20192019-01-04May 14 20152015-05-14 +1 copies2009-June LBE-Glimpses +2 copiesApril 30 20202020-04-30A golden deity murti decorated for alankar, seated against a deep red velvet backdrop.
