A priest in white dhoti and shawl, bare-chested and barefoot, performs aarti with a lit lamp before a deity murti of Devi Meenakshi in a shrine. The murti wears a green sari, a gold crown, a garland of red and orange flowers and gold necklaces, and sits on a blue cloth and green altar cloth. Brass oil lamps stand at the sides, and trays of fruit, sweets, nuts and grains, along with apples, lie on an orange cloth in front. A maroon banner with a seated figure hangs at the left and a white curtain with ornate gold tree-like backdrop frames the shrine. The priest's face is not visible enough to assign an identity, and he is described by role only.
