Three deity murtis stand on a raised altar with marigold garlands draped over them. In front, a shirtless man in a red-orange dhoti and shawl stands with his hands at the altar, facing the deities. Beside him, a man in a saffron-orange robe stands with his back to the camera. A third man in a white shirt is partly visible at the lower left corner. To the right stands an ornate gold chair with a magenta cushion, and a potted plant and dark cloth hang nearby. Two people are physically present, plus one partially visible person.2019-07-16Photo 111873782020-06-05 +1 copiesA photograph of a temple sanctum with a deity murti seated on a golden lion-carved throne draped in a green and gold cloth, adorned with red and white garlands, a red-and-white necklace and flower decorations. A standing man in orange saffron robes with a bare upper body, white-and-orange body markings, a long beard, rudraksha mala and bead necklaces holds a long thread or wick toward the deity, appearing to perform a puja. Tall golden oil lamps flank the throne, with brass vessels and a red-and-white garland in the foreground, and dark deity figures with gold ornaments stand in the background. The orange-robed figure has distinctive long hair and saffron clothing, matching the page's reference to a person at this event.2020-06-06May 07 20172017-05-07A gilded shrine room with a fire pit in the lower left where flames rise from an offering hearth. A priest in orange-red dhoti and red turban, bare-chested with a saffron shawl, raises one arm and holds a ritual item toward the fire. Beside him, a man in an orange-red dhoti tends the flames. Golden lions, a kalasha-style urn, oil lamps, marigold garlands and a gold-framed deity murti occupy the central altar, with a red-carpeted floor and a yellow framed screen behind.2020-07-05A seated man in saffron robes and a saffron-orange turban sits on an ornate gold throne with red velvet cushions, a white cup on a small side table, hands pressed together at his face, facing a microphone stand. Beside the throne, a priest in orange dhoti and bare chest with a rudraksha mala performs puja before a golden deity murti of Subramanya/Murugan with a peacock, adorned with garlands of white and red flowers and a golden trident-topped arch behind. Brass trident-topped lamps, oil lamps, fruit and offerings sit on the red-carpeted floor, with red and gold decorated banners and a painted deity portrait at upper left.2016-10-31 +1 copiesA priest in orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with a bare torso and rudraksha mala, stands at left pouring or lifting a vessel over a golden deity setup. Three deity murtis sit on a golden ratha-style vahana or throne with red cloth draped over its base: a central figure in a crown with a green and gold garment, flanked by two figures in red and gold-trimmed garments with floral garlands. Hanging bells, gold pillars, and tassels in red, green, yellow and purple decorate the temple hall. A small metal pot and a seated attendant appear at lower right. The scene suggests abhishekam or puja in a temple shrine.2020-04-27 +1 copiesPhotograph of a temple-style ritual in a hall with a red draped backdrop. On the left, a bearded man in an orange-red turban and saffron-orange robe sits on an ornate gold throne with a red velvet cushion, a white cup on a small side stool before him, and a microphone stand nearby; his appearance, swept-back hair and saffron robe are consistent with the page's a person reference, though his face is not clearly visible and the identification is uncertain. On the right, a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti performs puja before a gold-framed shrine holding a deity murti in yellow-gold garments, decorated with white and yellow flower garlands and a golden peacock-like vahana. Kalasha pots, trident staffs, a brass lamp and banana leaves with offerings sit on the floor, and a lit oil lamp glows at the base.2016-10-31 +1 copiesNovember 05 20162016-11-05June 09 20172017-06-09May 07 20172017-05-07
