Two people in saffron-orange robes hoist a red and white flag on a rope: one in the foreground on the right, bare-armed with a gold-bordered orange shawl and bangles, and a second beside the pole holding the rope and wearing a rudraksha mala. Both appear to be sannyasis or priests performing a flag hoisting. A shelter roof is visible at the top of the frame.2011-03-05April 25 20202020-04-25 +1 copiesPhoto 11724119 +1 copiesLow-angle outdoor photo of a tall copper flagstaff or dhvaja stambha rising against a partly cloudy sky, its upper finial decorated with a red-orange cloth. Two monks in orange robes stand at its base pulling an orange rope to raise or secure the pole; the nearer one wears a red-orange garment and beads, the other a saffron-orange shawl with a maroon border. A carved wooden or stone base with a seated figure panel supports the pole. A camera operator at lower left films the scene, and palm trees frame the right side under a canopy roof.2010-10-18A tall copper flagstaff with spiral bands and a finial rises against a clear blue sky beneath a corrugated metal roof edge. Its base is wrapped in yellow and orange marigold garlands and carved with a tree relief. Two people in saffron robes stand at the base: one in the foreground holds a rope and red-orange flag aloft while looking up, wearing dark rudraksha beads and a maroon sash; a bald man on the right, also in saffron, wears a beaded necklace and gestures toward the pole. Coconut palms are visible behind them.2011-03-05December 30 20172017-12-30
