He holds a brass oil lamp with a flame toward gilded altar figures. Behind him stands a central gold-framed seated deity murti flanked by golden lion-form supports, dressed in orange and red garments with garlands, and decorated with pearl and gold necklaces. Two other gold-framed deity figures stand on either side, garlanded with white flowers. Brass vessels and a brass plate with offerings sit on the stone platform in front. The scene reads as aarti at a shrine.2017-01-04January 13 20172017-01-13A photograph of a shrine with two gilded deity murtis draped in garlands of white jasmine and red and yellow flowers. A man with long dark hair, bare-chested and wearing an orange saffron cloth, stands at right holding a silver aarti lamp with a bright flame and a silver bell in his other hand, performing aarti. The shrine has gold-coloured pillars and a decorated canopy.2006-09-23A photograph of a temple ritual in a stone shrine. A shaved-headed priest in an orange dhoti and orange shawl, wearing a beaded necklace, pours liquid from a small silver vessel over a white-coated stone deity group. Three figures stand on a carved wooden pedestal: a central deity with a crown and raised arms, flanked by two smaller attendant figures, with a small animal figure beside the centre. Flower offerings and a small lamp sit at the base. Behind them, a seated figure in an orange robe and orange head covering sits on a gold throne draped with red fabric and purple-and-yellow garlands. Brass lamps and bowls are placed around the shrine. The scene is an abhishekam-style puja at a temple.2010-11-12 +1 copiesMay 29 20152015-05-29 +1 copies
