A woman in a white sari with a gold border kneels at a silver tray decorated with red and yellow kolam-style powder designs, orange flowers, two oranges, a red fruit and bananas, placing marigold petals. Behind her, women in white saris with gold borders stand at a carved wooden doorway against red walls. At right, a bare-chested man with white sacred ash marks on his forehead and body, wearing a saffron shawl and white dhoti, sits beside a small fire pit with burning embers and flower-decorated offerings. A bare-chested priest with white stripes painted on his arms and chest and a red headcloth sits on the left, wearing a gold bead garland. Behind the fire, a man in a white dhoti bends over a table set with fruit, a white-and-red patterned arrangement and small offerings. Another bare-chested priest with a gold garland sits near the back, and a white-clad attendant on the right holds a gold garland while reaching toward the altar. A metal bowl of red liquid sits beside the fire, and a plate of bananas and betel items rests on the right. No one visible is identified as a person.2016-02-27A photograph of a shaved-headed priest in a rust-red dhoti and wrap, with a rust-red turban-style cloth on his head, bowing over a silver tray of offerings. He wears a long necklace of rudraksha beads and a large silver pendant, has white horizontal markings on his arms and chest, and holds flower petals in his right hand while scattering them. In front of him are several yellow-wrapped coconuts decorated with green leaves, red flowers and straw, set in white-and-blue checked cloths on a silver plate, with scattered petals and yellow sweet blocks nearby. A silver bowl and lamp sit to the right beside a brick pillar, and a blue rolled mat lies on the floor. The scene is a puja offering. One person is visible, with a partially seen figure in red at the left edge.2018-04-20 +1 copiesJanuary 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesDecember 23 20162016-12-23Outdoor photo of a land puja at an open dry site with bare trees and palms behind. A figure in orange robes and a white flower garland with a red-bead mala stands bowed over a small pit in the earth, holding a leafy branch overhead, while a second person in orange with long dark hair kneels at left holding a sprig of leaves. Two men stand at right: one in white dhoti and shirt with a tilak and rudraksha mala, the other in light grey shirt and trousers with a mala, hands pressed together. Colourful flower petals and yellow marigolds form a ring around the pit on a white kolam drawing; red bricks and a woven mat lie nearby. Several other people in white stand in the background.2010-02-15January 01 20042004-01-01A priest in white dhoti with a purple head cloth leans over a fire pit (homa/yagna) decorated with marigold and yellow flower garlands, draping a yellow cloth over the altar area.
