Close-up photo of a seated person in an orange saffron garment with gold-bordered edges, sitting cross-legged on a woven straw mat with a blue border. A hand rests on the knee. A brass pot with a spout and handle stands on the left. Orange and gold ornamental beads are visible at the upper right, and a red wall and green foliage sit in the background. The person is partially visible, showing only arm and clothing, so no face is shown. Appearance cues include saffron clothing and a beaded necklace, but identity is uncertain.2010-11-12A close crop of a seated person in flowing saffron-orange robes resting one hand on the knee, with a polished brass vessel with a spout and handle on a woven straw mat beside them. Only the lower torso, arms and hands are visible. A gold-coloured brass vessel with a spout, similar to a kalasha or pouring pot, sits on the mat beside them in bright sunlight. The person wears a gold bangle and a necklace of gold beads over the saffron cloth. The ground is pale and dusty with white dotted markings and a faint shadow from a tree.2010-12-28A seated figure in saffron-orange robes sits cross-legged on a woven mat with a wooden board beneath, performing a hand mudra with the right hand resting on the knee. Around the neck hangs a long mala of dark rudraksha beads. Beside the figure stands a polished brass kalasha-style vessel with a handle and spout. The ground is concrete with scattered white and a yellow flower petal. Only the torso, arms and legs are visible; no face is shown, so the person is described by role as a meditating sannyasi and the identity is left unsure.2010-09-15Close photo of a seated person in saffron-orange robes with a gold-edged border, wearing a long necklace of gold beads. In the foreground is a polished brass kamandalu-style water vessel with a tall curved handle and a spout, placed on a woven straw mat with a blue edge. The background shows a grey concrete surface with white painted marks. The arrangement suggests a ritual or sitting-practice setting, with the water vessel used as a purification or offering object.2010-09-15September 12 20102010-09-12Close photograph of a seated person in saffron-orange robes resting one hand on the knee, with a polished brass vessel with a tall loop handle and a curved spout on the left against grey ground. Only the lower body, arms and hands are visible; the face is outside the frame. One hand rests on the knee and the other rests on the lap. A brass oil lamp with a long curved spout and a thin bent wire handle sits beside the mat, and a white chalk kolam or rangoli design is drawn on the ground behind. The scene suggests a sitting ritual or meditation outdoors.2010-09-12July 11 20102010-07-11September 08 20102010-09-08
