A photograph taken with the image rotated sideways. A woman in an orange sari with a red-and-gold border stands bent forward at left, pouring liquid from a golden vessel onto a dark black stone lingam on a gold yoni-shaped base, with white milk-like abhishekam trickling down. Behind her a second person in dark red clothing sits. At right, a painted orange figure seated with a white cloth and rudraksha mala is a deity murti or statue on a table, beside a framed picture, a wall clock, and a small calendar on a green-painted wall. The setting is a shrine with abhishekam being performed on a Shiva lingam.2020-03-04March 04 20202020-03-04March 04 20202020-03-04March 04 20202020-03-04March 04 20202020-03-04March 04 20202020-03-04KAILASA PUDUVAI 03 Oct 2021March 04 20202020-03-04A photo of a temple abhishekam at a shrine. A woman in a white blouse and white cloth with a gold border pours water from a golden pot over a black Shivalingam set on a dark yoni-peetha base. Behind her, another woman in a white garment with a gold border stands at a gilded niche holding a vessel. Gold-and-red deity murtis flank the niche, including a figure with multiple arms in a red dress and a crowned figure holding a lamp. A smaller red-clad deity murti stands in front of the base. The setting is a dim shrine with gold trim and red and white walls.A priest in white dhoti and shawl with red border pours milky liquid from a brass pot over a white-coated standing statue on a gilded wheeled palanquin-style stand. The priest wears a tilak on his forehead, a gold bead necklace and a gold bangle; the liquid runs down the statue and pools on the yellow-stained floor. Behind, an orange cloth draped by a stone pillar, a red and gold gate, and brass lamps and vessels on a ledge. The statue is a deity murti, not a person.2010-12-14KAILASA DHUMBARAI, NEPAL on 3/2/20212021-03-02A man in white ritual clothing leans over a black stone abhishekam basin in a temple, pouring water from a brass pot onto a golden shivalinga-style object. He wears thin-rimmed glasses, a dark rudraksha mala, and a visitor badge on his chest. Behind him, a woman in a red sari sits near the basin. To the left stand brass bells, a brass cup and a small wooden table decorated with a yellow flower garland. Carved grey granite pillars frame the scene.2010-01-17
