2005 - View-of-Ananda-Sabha-ConstructionA photograph of an active construction site showing partially built concrete block walls rising from a sandy, excavated plot. Rows of grey cinder blocks form low walls and pillars with a gap for an opening, and a wooden ladder and scaffolding stand near the walls. Trenches with exposed reinforcing rods and piles of brown earth surround the foundation. Dense green trees line the background under a pale sky. No people are visible.May 27 20072007-05-27 +1 copiesMay 27 20072007-05-27 +1 copiesA construction site beside a long whitewashed block wall under a corrugated roof. In the foreground, a low wall of pale concrete blocks and reddish bricks rises from a trench of excavated red-brown earth, with a heap of sand and a large pale stone at left. Taller unfinished block walls with exposed courses extend along the left, with trees and a green canopy behind. A doorway opening appears in the white wall. In the foreground, a low wall of stacked grey and terracotta-coloured blocks runs across bare reddish earth, with loose blocks and rubble scattered around. Behind it, taller white-plastered block walls rise, with window openings framed in the upper courses. A tall black metal scaffold-style frame supports a dark cylindrical water storage tank. To the right, a finished white building with a sloped corrugated roof stands beside the work area, and rocks and stones are piled on the left. Trenches are dug into sandy earth, with bamboo scaffolding poles lashed together along the right-hand wall and green water hoses lying across the ground. Steel framing and a tall metal gantry stand at the left and right edges. Piles of loose stone and rubble sit near the centre, and beyond the site are low buildings, trees, heaps of sand and a parked white vehicle.
