A large tented hall holds a seated congregation of many women and some men, mostly in white and colourful saris, salwar and shawls, sitting on mats and listening attentively. In the foreground, a bare-chested priest in white dhoti sits on a red cloth before brass bowls, flowers and ritual vessels, performing a puja or abhishekam. Behind him, a golden shrine with ornate gilded panels holds large deity murti figures and decorated altar pieces, with orange and yellow marigold garlands and a golden palanquin-like canopy at right. Bright ceiling lights and hanging decorations fill the tent above.
