October 11 20062006-10-11A photograph of people walking along a covered colonnade with a tiled roof, white-washed walls on the right and a wooden-beamed ceiling above, trees and greenery visible beyond the open side on the left. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange saffron robe and a gold-coloured beaded necklace, walking barefoot and carrying nothing in his hands. Beside and behind him, men in white dhotis and white shirts walk; one carries a walking stick and a dark bag. On the right, a bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a sacred thread walks with his hands folded at his chest. The scene has a quiet, orderly palace-compound feel.2006-11-10A photograph of a procession on a dirt path beside a cream-coloured building with a corrugated awning. Several men in orange and saffron robes walk in a line; the central figure wears orange dhoti and a long wooden-bead necklace and has long hair, and another man in front carries a long pole. Men in white dhotis with orange shawls follow. A small gold ceremonial emblem is mounted on the wall. Palm trees and open land are visible behind.2007-12-23A covered veranda at an ashram, photographed from behind a line of people walking away from the camera. In front, a figure with long dark hair wears an orange turban and orange wrap over orange robes. Beside him, a shaven-headed monk in orange robes walks with a bald head visible. Further along, a long-haired person in orange and another in orange with a white undershirt follow, one with a gold ornament at the neck. Ahead, three men in white shirts and trousers stand near a small table at the far end of the veranda. Folding metal chairs line the right wall, banana plants grow beside the open lawn, and a row of garlands hangs under the roof.2008-12-30A photograph of a group of saffron-robed monastics walking single file along a marble-floored covered walkway with white arched openings. In the foreground at right, a bearded man with long dark hair wears an orange robe and a long orange shawl draped over his shoulder, and holds a small object in one hand. Behind him, several monastics in orange robes and rudraksha malas walk in a line, with one man in white clothing further back. In front, a barefoot man in an orange shawl and orange dhoti walks with a bare chest; behind him a man in orange robes with a scarf walks, followed by other orange-clad figures and a person in white. Green shrubs and trees fill the background, and a potted plant stands at the left. Several people walk in procession. Whether the bare-chested figure in front is a person cannot be determined from appearance, so no identity is asserted.2009-08-17A photo of a covered colonnade with a red-tiled roof and a row of black chairs along the left wall. A group of saffron-robed sannyasis walks along a concrete walkway beside a lawn and banana plants. In the centre an elderly man in an orange robe and orange headwear leans on a cane, flanked by a sannyasi with a long beard and a sannyasi in orange with a red-brown mala. At the front left, a man in a white dhoti and white kurta with an orange shawl walks beside them, and further back, more monks in orange robes follow. Festive garlands hang along the roof edge in the background.2008-12-31December 30 20082008-12-30A covered colonnade with a corrugated red roof and a row of black metal waiting chairs along a white wall. A group of people in orange and saffron robes walks down the tiled walkway toward the right. The foreground figure wears an orange turban and a long orange robe with orange beaded necklaces. Banana plants and a green lawn line the open side, with bunting strung overhead and a pink track and a yellow-roofed structure visible in the distance. A man in dark clothing stands near the wall, and a person in white walks behind the group. Some of the orange-robed walkers appear to be sannyasis or devotees; the lead figure's appearance is not clearly established.2008-12-30A photograph taken outdoors along a pale brick-paved path beside a whitewashed building with a small doorway and ventilation slits. Several people in saffron-orange robes and orange shawls walk toward the building, with a man in a light checked shirt among them.
