A dense outdoor crowd gathers beneath a striped red, yellow and green canopy supported by bamboo poles, with blue plastic chairs and red drums visible behind. Several men in saffron/orange robes and shaved heads stand at the centre, one bare-chested man with a sacred ash-marked torso wears a saffron cloth and a garland-like necklace. Men in white dhotis and orange or yellow shawls surround them, and a woman in orange with dark hair stands at the front right. A camera operator on the left films the gathering. The setting appears to be a roadside or temple grounds event with a tall white pillar in the background.2007-07-25July 25 20072007-07-25July 25 20072007-07-25July 25 20072007-07-25Outdoor gathering under a yellow and red patterned canopy with a crowd of saffron-robed sadhus and devotees. In the front row, several seated sadhus in orange and saffron robes wear marigold garlands; one on the far right has a tall orange turban and a long white beard. Behind them, standing devotees wear white kurtas, orange and red garments, and one man in a blue checked shirt stands near the center. Some hold their hands together in greeting, and a few wear rudraksha malas. Carpets cover the ground beneath the seated row. Roughly thirty to forty people are visible.2016-04-18July 25 20072007-07-25July 25 20072007-07-25July 25 20072007-07-25Dense outdoor crowd at an ashram inauguration in Tiruvannamalai. A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a long swept-back hairstyle and multiple beaded necklaces is on the right, beside a white-cloth-draped seat, appearing to be a person in a ceremonial role. Nearby, men in white shirts and dhotis, some with white caps, move through the crowd; an elderly man in a white shirt with a green cloth draped over his shoulder is bent forward at centre. A saffron-robed figure with a tied-back ponytail stands in the lower foreground. Colourful bunting and tassels hang from a canopy overhead, with bamboo poles supporting the tent and a loudspeaker box in the middle.2008-04-19July 25 20072007-07-25Outdoor photo of a crowd near a roadside tent decorated with orange and red bunting and a tall red-and-brown pole. In the centre, a man with long, swept-back dark curly hair and a saffron/orange shawl bows with palms pressed together, while a bearded man in orange robes supports his arm. Surrounding them are saffron-robed sannyasis, including a bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala and an older bald man in orange on the left with hands folded. Several men in white shirts and a young man with a white flower garland stand in the background among onlookers.2007-08-09July 25 20072007-07-25
