A man sits cross-legged on an orange cushion on a low wooden platform inside a circular ring of dark gravel bordered by coloured floor patterns, on a paved courtyard. He wears an orange-saffron garment over his shoulder and a dark rudraksha mala, with a red bindi on his forehead, and gazes upward with eyes half-open in meditation. Beside him sits a brass kalasha/pot. Behind him, a black stone Nandi bull wearing a yellow and red marigold garland sits on a red-brown plinth, with more black stone statues and palm and frangipani plants in the background. The pose and setting suggest a guided meditation practice.

A small brass vessel sits beside him, and white and blue kolam rangoli designs decorate the ground in the foreground.
