January 02 20122012-01-02A photograph of a ritual food offering display with no visible people. Tiers of stainless steel bowls heaped with sweets, savouries, fried snacks, grains and fruit are arranged on white-draped tables and on the floor in front of a gilded red-upholstered chair. Behind the offering stands a framed portrait garlanded with white jasmine and multicoloured flower strands; the portrait shows a seated figure in orange-saffron robes with a rudraksha mala and a forehead mark, set against a rocky backdrop. Orange drapes hang behind the arrangement. The chair is draped with an orange cloth. A portrait captioned with a printed name is present, so the figure depicted is a printed image rather than a physical person in the room.2010-01-01January 02 20122012-01-02March 08 20132013-03-08A photograph of an indoor altar set up in a plain room with pale tiled walls. The portrait is draped with a red cloth with gold borders. Two brass oil lamps stand on either side, with a brass kalasha-style vessel and a small brass pot nearby. In front, a tray holds pineapple, oranges, bananas, and other fruit, alongside steel bowls, clay cups and small cups, and baskets of offerings on a cream and floral-patterned table cloth. No people are visible.2011-07-01October 14 20072007-10-14A printed portrait in a frame on a draped stage, decorated with a white and yellow flower garland and red flowers, shows a smiling man with long dark hair, a red tilak, a white beaded mala and an orange saffron robe, seated cross-legged before a banyan-root background.
