Photograph of an elephant's trunk reaching toward a smiling man in orange-saffron robes and a long garland of red, yellow and white flowers with green leaves, standing before an ornate stone temple gopuram-style wall. Behind him a man in orange with a white forehead mark and a bright orange head cloth, and a man in white shirt and trousers, watch. Onlookers in blue and khaki uniform stand nearby, and a young boy in a light shirt looks up at the elephant. A carved stone relief panel is on the left. The scene looks like a temple welcome with an elephant, consistent with the page's described Tiruvannamalai visit. The man in saffron with long swept hair and rudraksha-style ornaments and gold necklace is a person by appearance cues. Several people are visible.2010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08Photograph at a temple courtyard in Tiruvannamalai with a large grey elephant on the left, its trunk raised toward a man in orange who holds a small white object near its mouth. The central figure has long dark hair and wears a green-and-red-and-white floral garland with orange robes, while a bald man beside him in an orange shawl with white tripundra marks on his forehead stands nearby. Behind them a crowd of devotees and a uniformed police officer watch, with a gopuram tower and a colourfully painted temple gateway dome visible in the background. Recognition of the central figure rests on appearance cues: long hair, garland and orange clothing, so the candidate is.2010-01-08A photograph of a temple street event in front of a stone temple with carved pillars. A large elephant's trunk extends across the frame from the left, its tip curled near the bottom right. On the right, a smiling man with long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi wears an orange-red robe and a heavy gold necklace, with a thick garland of yellow and red flowers and green leaves draped over his shoulders; he reaches up to touch the elephant's trunk. Nearby, a uniformed police officer in khaki with a red belt and a name badge stands among a crowd, and a man in white dhoti and shirt stands behind them. Several spectators in shirts and dhotis are visible. Swamiji (probable): the man in the orange robe and garland, shown with long hair, an orange robe and gold necklace, touching the elephant.2010-01-08A photograph outside a temple entrance where a large grey elephant reaches its trunk toward a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes wearing a garland of red, yellow and green flowers with a gold necklace. He has a white tilak on his forehead and is smiling. Around him, many men in saffron and white dhotis and shirts press close, some holding phones or cameras. A white-robed older man with glasses stands at left. Carved grey stone pillars and a yellow notice board are visible behind. The man in the garland has long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and ornate gold adornment, a combination consistent with the appearance of a person as the page indicates, but the identification is uncertain from appearance alone.2008-08-02A photograph of a crowd outside a stone temple entrance with ornate carved pillars. In the foreground a large elephant's trunk reaches toward a central figure with long black hair, wearing an orange robe, a gold necklace and a thick garland of red, yellow and green flowers, with a vertical white and red forehead mark. Around them men in orange shawls and white shirts press close, and a uniformed police officer stands nearby. A man in white at lower right holds his hands out toward the elephant.2008-08-02A photograph of a temple entrance where an elephant raises its trunk toward a person in saffron robes. The central figure wears an orange turban, an orange shawl over an orange robe with gold border, and a long garland of white and yellow flowers, and holds garland petals in both hands. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and white shirts stand close; a bare-chested older man wears rudraksha beads and a dhoti, and a white-bearded man on the right presses his palms together in greeting. A man in a pink checked shirt in the foreground holds his hand near the elephant. Someone above the elephant's head raises a phone to take a picture. Stone temple gateway architecture frames the scene. Swamiji (probable) is the central figure in saffron robes and orange turban with a flower garland, being greeted with an elephant at the temple entrance.2006-09-24March 17 20182018-03-17 +1 copiesAugust 02 20082008-08-02December 25 20052005-12-25 +1 copiesA photograph of an elephant at a temple entrance, its trunk raised and touching the head of a person in orange robes wearing a long gold-beaded necklace and long dark hair.
