June 30 20082008-06-30A hilly mountain town street in Uttarakhand with a snow-capped Himalayan peak rising above green slopes under overcast sky. A group of around ten devotees walk along a damp dirt road, several wearing orange shawls draped over their shoulders; one older woman in a red jacket and orange shawl stands in the foreground, another woman in grey wears an orange scarf, and a man in a dark blue jacket looks on. Parked vehicles line the road, including a silver SUV and a white van, and a silver tourist van with a blue tarp stands at right. A white hotel building with teal windows and a red and green trim balcony stands at left, with small shops and a red-roofed structure ahead. On the left, a row of tin-roofed roadside stalls and shops stands beside a dirt road with puddles, where several men in jackets and sweaters stand and walk, and a brown pack horse with a saddle is tied near the stalls. On the right, a white SUV with a roof rack and a Uttarakhand registration plate is parked, and a man in an orange robe and a woman in the vehicle are visible. A green steel truss bridge spans the valley ahead, and a row of signboards hangs beside it. Overcast sky and misty hills complete the view.2008-06-30 +2 copies
