The nearest man, shaved-headed and wearing thin-framed glasses, has white ash markings on his forehead and arms, a rudraksha mala around his neck, and a white dhoti and shawl with gold borders. The middle man, also with white markings, wears a white dhoti with a gold border and a white upper cloth. The man at the back wears an orange-red robe and sits with bare feet extended. Small flower offerings lie near the floor in the foreground.2011-11-08November 02 20112011-11-02November 18 20112011-11-18Several young men in white dhoti-style clothes with gold borders sit cross-legged on mats across a tiled floor in a plain hall with a red curtain and white doors behind them. The nearest man, shaved-headed and wearing glasses, wears a rudraksha mala and sits upright with his eyes lowered, a small book beside him. Others sit in a row, some with white ash marks on their arms and foreheads, one with long hair and a mala. Brass vessels and a small table with offerings stand at the left, and a blue-rimmed tray sits near the centre.2011-11-08Close photo of two shaved-headed men in white dhotis with gold borders seated in meditation or puja. The man in front wears a rudraksha mala, white vertical tilak marks on his forehead and arm, and thin-rimmed glasses, with his eyes closed. Behind him a second man in a white dhoti sits with his hand raised near his face, and a figure in orange robes is partly visible at the right edge. A small pendant hangs at the chest.2011-11-08Several men in plain white ritual clothes sit on a floor mat with their palms pressed together in namaskar, eyes closed, in a devotional gathering. The central figure is shaved-headed and wears thin-rimmed glasses, a rudraksha mala, a gold bangle and a white upper cloth with gold-coloured edges. Others beside him have white vibhuti or tilak marks on their foreheads and arms. Behind them a red wall and a man in a pale green kurta sit in the background. No one visible is distinctively identifiable as a person by appearance cues, so the presence of a person candidate is unsure. The setting suggests a pada puja or satsang moment.2011-11-04October 27 20112011-10-27Several men sit cross-legged in a row in white dhoti-style clothing with maroon and gold borders, many with bare upper bodies and white ash markings on their foreheads and arms. In front of them lie an open book, brass lamps and a small plate with red offerings and flowers on a mat. Red curtains hang in the background.2011-10-28Photograph of several men seated cross-legged on a white floor during a ritual, eyes closed in meditation or prayer.
