A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a blue turban and rudraksha-style beads sits at the right, tending the fire with a long ladle. Opposite, a man with a red shawl over bare shoulders and white dhoti sits cross-legged, watching. Fruits, bananas, a coconut and small silver vessels sit on banana leaves, decorated with yellow marigold garlands and white-and-blue striped cloth on the pots. A stone deity figure stands behind a wooden door with brass studs. Other people stand partially visible at the upper right and lower left.2017-09-27 +1 copiesSeptember 27 20172017-09-27 +1 copiesMarch 15 20172017-03-15April 03 20172017-04-03A homa fire ceremony in progress on a patterned striped cloth. A shirtless man in white dhoti with a red and gold head cloth, rudraksha and bead malas, stirs an offering with a wooden ladle over a brick fire pit where flames rise from logs. Coconuts, bananas, marigold and red flowers, and a brass kalasha with mango leaves and a coconut form the offerings beside him. A second man in white sits at the right edge. Behind, a red cushioned golden peetha throne stands empty. The scene is a ritual puja, not a portrait of a named person.2017-07-04 +1 copiesApril 06 20172017-04-06June 23 20172017-06-23 +1 copiesJuly 19 20132013-07-19September 27 20172017-09-27 +1 copiesA homa fire burns in a yellow stone fire pit decorated with pink flower petals, with coconut halves and offerings arranged around it. Two men perform the ritual: on the left, a bare-chested man wears a green headcloth, a necklace of gold beads and a red-and-white dhoti, holding a small cup; beside him, a younger man wears an orange cloth, a beaded necklace and a sacred thread, holding a small brass vessel. To the right, a decorated deity murti stands draped in yellow and green cloth, garlanded with yellow marigolds and red flowers, with a brass lamp and metal vessels nearby. Gold-coloured ritual vessels and a brass lamp stand at the edges of the scene.2016-03-27
