Behind him stands a shrine with carved stone pillars, golden arched frame, strings of red and yellow marigold garlands, a golden deity murti with trident-like staff and a kalasha, and brass oil lamps. He wears a rust-orange robe and a sash, with a long braided rudraksha mala draped over his chest, and his hands rest together in his lap. The throne is set in a lush staged garden of green plants, large rocks and a painted forest backdrop. Behind the throne, a gilded deity murti with multiple arms and a trident stands above the seat. A peacock feather fan leans against the left side, a tiger skin lies beneath the throne, and a small table holds fruit. The throne is garlanded with red and white flowers and sits on a red stage. Behind is a decorated arch with a painted backdrop showing a seated deity pair with a crown and trident-like adornments, flanked by two smaller standing figures, set among pink and white lotus-petal shapes and green leaves. Striped orange, yellow and green floral decorations frame the set. Two white-draped side tables hold offerings. The seated figure's appearance matches several cues for a person, including long swept-back hair and saffron clothing with a mala, so this is a probable in-person candidate, though the face is not visible.2009-07-17
