A priest in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, seen from behind, raises a flaming lamp toward the ceiling of a stone shrine during a vilakku pooja. Smoke fills the air around silver-clad deity murtis draped in white and yellow flower garlands. A small pink-sari brass figure stands in front, with brass kalasha vessels, a conch, a silver lamp and a plate of offerings on the floor. The figure's face is not visible, so his identity cannot be established from appearance.2006-12-31A photograph inside a stone temple shrine at night. A standing man in saffron-orange robes, with a shaved head, waves a large white yak-tail fly whisk (chamara) toward a pair of deity murtis. The murtis, seated on a raised golden-brown pedestal draped with red and orange cloth, wear orange garments, gold-coloured necklaces and rudraksha-style beaded malas; one holds a ceremonial staff. A red and white flower garland and yellow flowers adorn the central figure. In front are brass oil lamps, a kalasha vessel, a decorated pot, plates of offerings, and a small white cloth. Carved stone pillars frame the scene. Copyright and source text appears on the image. This appears to be a puja or aarti with a chamara offering.2007-10-04December 31 20062006-12-31November 05 20072007-11-05December 10 20072007-12-10December 31 20062006-12-31November 12 20102010-11-12A shaved-headed priest in a white dhoti with an orange-bordered shawl and orange waist cloth stands bare-chested at right, raising a lit camphor flame on a silver aarti lamp toward a shrine. Smoke rises from the flame. Before him, on a red-fronted altar with a brass plate, stands a stone shrine with an arched golden frame and orange and red drapes holding deity murtis, including a seated figure and a standing consort. A small red-clad figure stands in an adjacent niche. A silver vessel sits on a carved wooden stand at left, and a stone Nandi bull is visible on the roof ledge.2011-10-04January 03 20082008-01-03December 30 20062006-12-30December 10 20072007-12-10October 03 20082008-10-03
