The murti wears a gold crown, gold ornaments and a deep red sari. A lit oil lamp stands in the right foreground beside brass vessels, and marigold and rose decorations fill the background of a temple sanctum.2016-12-14May 07 20172017-05-07December 23 20162016-12-23A photograph of a seated man with eyes closed at a puja, wearing a maroon-brown robe draped over the shoulders, a double-strand red and white flower garland, layered gold necklaces with a pendant, and gold armbands. He has long matted dark hair coiled high with a crescent ornament, and white ash lines with a red mark on the forehead. In front of him a silver tray holds red roses, and a brass oil lamp burns at the right edge. Behind him stands a gilded throne-like backdrop framed with yellow, red and white flowers and a gold figure. Swamiji (probable): the long matted hair, crescent crown, rudraksha-style red-and-white garland and ornate gold necklaces match the presentation of the event's guru, seated and honoured in ritual setting.2016-07-19A seated man with long dark braided hair wrapped on his head smiles broadly while handing a gold-coloured thread or garland to a bare-chested priest in white dhoti and an orange cloth draped over his shoulder, who bows toward him. The seated man wears a deep maroon garment, layered red and white beaded malas, heavy gold necklaces and armlets, and a red tilak on his forehead, seated on a red-cushioned throne. Behind him are dense arrangements of yellow marigolds, white flowers and green leaves, with a gold throne backrest and a gold-and-red decorative fabric at left. The setting suggests a temple ritual offering.2016-07-19 +1 copiesMay 07 20172017-05-07A seated man with long dark hair wrapped in a high bun, wearing a rust-brown robe, a red-beaded mala and layered gold necklaces and armlets, sits on a red velvet throne cushioned with a zebra-striped cloth. Behind him stands a backdrop of marigold and rose garlands. A priest in a white dhoti with gold borders and a shawl bends forward toward him, offering something in a silver dish; the gold wall behind holds carved figures. Swamiji (probable): the seated man's long swept-back hair, rudraksha-style red mala, ornate gold necklaces and saffron-toned robe are cues for the Swamiji candidate, who is receiving an offering in a temple-style puja setting.2016-07-19July 19 20162016-07-19A man with long swept-back dark hair, a rust-brown turban and a gold armlet, wearing a brown-orange shawl over the shoulder, bows over a garlanded deity murti with his hands, adjusting gold ornaments and pink, yellow and red flower garlands on a golden figure. Behind him another priest in a deep red turban stands beside floral garlands, and a golden decorated figure appears at right. The setting is an ornate temple sanctum with a gold-framed backdrop. The man has long hair and a shawl, and the page attributes this event to a person, so the appearance-based label applies: a person, performing a puja and garlanding the murti.2016-12-14
