Outdoor procession on a roadside with tall trees behind. Four men in matching orange satin kurtas and green dhoti-style trousers with yellow edging carry palanquins (palaki) overhead. The left palanquin is draped in green and purple cloth with yellow and red marigold garlands and brass finials. The right palanquin is covered in red cloth with gold trim and brass finials. Men wear pink, checked and white head cloths, and some have ankle bells. A few other people stand at the roadside.2010-07-24December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16December 16 20172017-12-16A performer in a red and orange costume stands on a dirt ground holding a curved sword and a small brass cymbal. He wears a tall headdress with white plumes, a yellow-gold ornament, a yellow garland of flowers and a rudraksha-style bead necklace, with gold armbands and beaded anklets. A figure in green-and-red costume stands at left and a person in a yellow shirt and dark trousers stands at right. Behind them are a line of orange pennant flags strung along a mud-brick wall, a banana plant, and trees under a clear sky.2008-12-29December 16 20172017-12-16December 30 20072007-12-30Photo 11708431 +1 copies
