Four men sit cross-legged in meditation on bare ground covered with grey ash, in an outdoor setting with a black stone pillar, white structure and palm trees behind them. The foremost man wears white clothing, a yellow shawl, a red tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha mala. The man beside him in white has a grey beard, folded hands and a red tilak, and two more men in white with yellow shawls sit behind them with eyes closed.2010-07-14Outdoor photo of a courtyard meditation at an ashram under palm trees. A central figure in orange robes sits cross-legged on a mat in front of a red stepped pedestal topped by a tall orange pillar garlanded with flowers, with a black stone deity murti seated on the pedestal. Around him, about a dozen seated devotees in white dhotis and yellow, orange and white garments sit in meditation on individual circular mats. Behind them stand dark stone sculptures of deities and figures on red-tagged bases, with palm and tropical foliage beyond. In the foreground a white stone platform holds a small stepped pyramid-shaped object with a kalasha-like finial. The central figure is an appearance-based candidate, with orange robes and a crowned-looking hairstyle, but the face and presentation are not distinct enough to confirm identity, so this is marked unsure.2010-09-20July 05 20102010-07-05A photograph of an outdoor courtyard with a red-orange stepped shrine platform and a tall orange-and-gold pillar at its centre. A seated figure in orange robes with an orange shawl sits cross-legged in front of the shrine on a raised mat with a small brass lamp, and a dark stone deity murti in front of the shrine is garlanded with yellow-orange flowers. Around the courtyard, about a dozen people sit in meditation on mats in white and yellow-white clothes, some wearing orange shawls. Dark stone statues stand on the left among palm trees and greenery, and a white stone platform with a pyramid-shaped canopy lies in the foreground.2010-09-20Outdoor ritual scene in a garden courtyard lined with large grey stone deity statues, palm trees and low buildings behind. Several people sit cross-legged in white clothing on the sandy ground inside circular stone-ringed rangoli-style patterns, with faint smoke rising around them. One woman on the left wears an orange-red sari, another seated woman wears a red shawl over white, and others wear white with yellow or saffron wraps. A tall dark statue of a standing figure holding a staff stands at right. The scene suggests a group puja or homa-style sitting, though no fire pit is clearly visible. Four people are clearly visible seated in front, with several more partially visible at the edges, so the count is in the low-double digits.2010-06-27Outdoors on bare sandy ground beneath tall coconut palms, about a dozen people sit cross-legged in a row on mats in front of small circular fire pits with grey ash and charred embers, smoke rising between them. Most wear white dhoti-style clothing with yellow or saffron shawls draped over their shoulders, and some wear rudraksha malas. A white-clad man in the centre holds his hands together in front, and a woman in orange and white sits at the far right. A white building, bamboo fencing and a blue bucket are visible behind them. The scene resembles a fire ritual or homa practice.2010-07-27Outdoor photo of a sandy courtyard at an ashram-style site where around a dozen people sit cross-legged in circular ring pits filled with ash and stones. Most wear white clothes with yellow shawls; a woman in the foreground wears an orange-bordered white sari, and two people in orange robes sit at left. A tall copper ritual flagpole with a finial rises behind white stepped platforms topped with dark statues, flanked by coconut palms and a thatched hut. A small map board stands at left.2010-08-01Outdoor photograph of a group performing a seated ritual on bare sandy ground at an ashram. In the foreground, a figure in orange robes with rudraksha mala beads sits cross-legged on a raised stone platform inside a ring of ash, with a brass vessel placed before him. Behind him, about five men in white dhotis and yellow shawls sit in a row on the ground, also within ash rings. Behind them stand a white building with red doors and windows, stone statues in rows and a bicycle. Orange cloth hangs in the doorway on the right and sacks lie near the wall.2010-07-10July 19 20102010-07-19Outdoor ritual yagna scene at an ashram courtyard with several circular fire pits ringed with dark stone, sending up smoke. Many devotees in white clothes sit cross-legged around the pits, some wearing yellow shawls. A woman with long dark hair in an orange sari walks across the foreground, and a man in a light grey shirt carries a long-handled tool near the fires. In the lower right, a bald man in white with an orange shawl sits on a mat beside other seated white-clad devotees. Palm trees, a small white building with a corrugated roof, and stone figures at the right edge complete the setting.2010-07-11Outdoor scene of people seated in meditation on sandy ground inside circular rings of grey ash, a practice of Pancha Tapas (five fires). In the foreground a young man in white kurta and white dhoti with a yellow shawl sits cross-legged with eyes closed and hands resting on his knees. Further back, more men in white with yellow shawls sit in similar rings, and a figure in orange robes sits near a white-painted platform. A tall copper-coloured ceremonial flagstaff with an orange flag rises at right beside a white stupa-like structure with a bronze statue and a garlanded seated figure in white. Coconut palms, thatched huts, a silver SUV and a painted information board sit behind them under pale sky.2010-07-10June 27 20102010-06-27
