A metal staircase on the left leads up to a railed platform where several people in saffron and orange robes stand, and a group of people in white clothes sit on red stepped seating on the left. Rows of saffron-clad people sit on the red tiered seating on the right. The water reflects the lingam and the staircase.2013-10-28October 21 20132013-10-21A photograph of a large dark stone Shiva lingam with a decorative base, shown upside down and reflected in still water. The lingam is wrapped with a banded yellow, red and white cord. Behind it are red brick buildings with white-framed windows, and a metal railing with steps appears at left. No people are visible.2013-06-03November 04 20132013-11-04 +1 copiesNovember 27 20162016-11-27 +1 copiesMay 29 20172017-05-29September 11 20172017-09-11May 29 20172017-05-29Large black Shiva lingam with a gold-edged yoni-pitha base stands in a water-filled tank before a red-brick multi-storey building. Several saffron-robed priests in orange dhotis attend the lingam, pouring from pots and handling vessels at its base. Above, figures stand on a platform at the top of the lingam, and a yellow canopy sits behind it. A gilded throne-like seat with red cushions holds a white-clad figure seated in front of the lingam. Rows of small lamps line the red tiered wall behind, and red-and-yellow flags fly along the railings. Water and offerings are arranged around the base.2017-09-11Outdoor photo at dusk of a large black Shiva lingam rising from a shallow water-filled basin with a stepped base, surrounded by red-and-white striped festoon garlands and strings of lights along a low wall, with palm trees behind. In the foreground, a seated figure in an ornate gold-and-red chair wears saffron-orange robes and a white flower garland, with a gold parasol above, while an attendant in orange stands at left and two more attendants in white and red are partly visible at the bottom right. The scene suggests an abhishekam-style ceremony at the lingam pool.2009-01-02
