The Nandi wears a garland of yellow and pink flowers and turmeric powder dusts its base. A brass vessel sits on the ground at right, and a reflection of a temple structure ripples in the water behind. The scene is an abhishekam offering at the temple pond.2016-11-07A shaved-headed priest in an orange dhoti with red border stands bare-backed at the edge of a temple pool, pouring yellow liquid from a golden pot over a large black stone Nandi bull statue. The bull wears a garland of yellow and pink flowers. White sacred markings are visible on the priest's back and arm, and a rudraksha-style mala hangs at his neck. Brass vessels sit on the stone ledge, and the temple's reflection shows in the still water.2016-11-07November 07 20162016-11-07November 07 20162016-11-07A photograph of an outdoor Shiva lingam on a raised stone platform in the middle of a still rectangular water tank. The lingam is a tall dark stone form draped with a garland of multicoloured flowers and marigolds in bands of yellow, orange, pink, white and green. In the foreground a dark stone Nandi bull's head rises from the water, with a red and pink flower garland around its neck. Behind the tank are rows of seating and a multi-storey red building. On the terraces and steps several saffron-robed people stand at the side of the water, and some figures sit among the rows, so the scene is partly visible and partly reflected. The water reflects the structures and garlands.2013-11-06A shaved-headed priest in an orange dhoti and white body markings pours yellow liquid from a golden vessel over a dark black stone lingam with a rudraksha-like garland of yellow and pink flowers at its base. Yellow stains run down the stone, which sits by still water reflecting a striped temple wall and tower. Only the priest's bare arm and torso are visible, so no clear view of his face. This appears to be an abhishekam at a water-side shrine, with the priest a single physical person.2016-11-07November 06 20132013-11-06A shaved-headed priest in an orange dhoti and white sacred ash markings on his back pours yellow liquid from a golden vessel over a black stone Nandi-style bull statue or murti. Pink and yellow flower garlands drape the statue, and yellow powder scatters around it. Behind, a still temple tank reflects a red and white striped temple wall and a shikhara. The priest wears a rudraksha mala and a gold bangle.2016-11-07A shaven-headed priest, bare-chested and wearing an orange dhoti with red border, pours liquid from a golden vessel over a black stone Nandi bull statue.
