A large fire blazes on a wooden platform in the foreground, with tall orange flames and rising smoke rising from a heap of dark cowdung cakes. In the background at right, a bare-chested man in a maroon cloth wraps a shawl over his shoulders and sits with hands near a brass vessel, appearing to be a priest or ritual participant. Several people sit blurred in the dim left background, some in red and white clothing. Brass plates and bowls lie on the floor and a silver vessel sits at right. A woven red and blue cloth lies at lower left.

A photograph of a homa fire pit at night. Tall orange flames rise from a brick-edged square pit, consuming a heap of offerings and wood with red, orange and marigold-like petals scattered among the embers. Behind the pit, a white cloth with a green and brown border covers a table with small brass or clay vessels. No people are clearly visible; the frame shows only the fire and the altar area.

Close photo of a homa fire burning on a low yellow-ochre altar platform scattered with red and orange flower petals. Bright flames and smoke rise from wood sticks in the centre, with a small brass or bronze bowl at left. Blurred, out-of-focus figures and fire appear in the foreground and background, and a partially visible arm in dark clothing reaches toward the fire at upper right. No identifiable face is visible.

A large fire burns in a stone fire pit in front of a dark shrine decorated with floral garlands and a deity murti draped in flowers. Flames rise high and sparks drift upward, while a metal bowl sits to the left of the fire pit. No people are visible; the scene suggests a homa or yagna fire ritual at night.

Photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A large orange flame rises from a brick-built fire pit with a white and red patterned cloth on its top edge, surrounded by smoke. A brass dish and a metal bowl of offerings sit beside the pit, and yellow marigold garlands hang at the right edge. Behind the fire, a shirtless figure sits in shadow, partly silhouetted, and a dim temple-like structure fills the background.

A tall, bright flame rises from a fire pit or homa altar at night, with a brass or copper bowl at the left edge and scattered red flowers and marigold petals along the low altar surface. A partly visible person in a reddish garment sits at the far left edge, mostly out of frame. The background is a blurred dark green and gold temple setting with bokeh lights.

Night photograph of a homa fire ritual at an ashram. A rectangular brick-lined fire pit holds a large blaze with flames leaping upward, and a second raised metal fire vessel on the right burns with a tall flame. The surrounding area is dark; faint, indistinct figures in pale clothing are visible in the background behind the fire, though they are too dim to clearly distinguish. The scene suggests a fire ceremony such as a Gyanagni or Thrisuparna homa.
