In the centre, a man in an ochre-orange robe with a bare shoulder and a red tilak on his forehead stands on the steps, smiling and gesturing with his hands. Beside him, a bearded man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala. A shirtless priest in a white dhoti holds a tray of bananas and flowers, and a bare-chested man in a red shawl holds a silver pot with a yellow cloth tassel. Men in white shirts and a woman in a blue sari stand around them.2009-08-11Night photograph at a temple precinct with a colourful gopuram-style shrine in the background, decorated with painted figures and bull statues. Three men walk across a stone pavement. The central man has long dark hair, a full beard and a maroon-brown dhoti and wrap, with a thick rope-like cord over his shoulder. The man on the right wears orange-saffron cloth and a rudraksha mala, and holds a white coconut or sacred fruit. The man on the left, bald and wearing a rust-brown dhoti with a flower garland and a yellow marigold-type offering, carries a bag. A woman in a green sari stands behind them, and a few other figures and parked motorcycles are visible on the left. The a person presence is only an appearance-based candidate: the central figure with long hair, beard and maroon wrap may be the a person, so the entry is marked as probable in person.2017-02-07A photograph of a group walking outdoors past a pink-washed wall and a teal-framed window. At centre, a young man with long dark hair and a white forehead mark wears a saffron-orange robe, a multi-strand gold-bead necklace, and a large pink flower garland draped over his shoulders, with a white cloth over one arm. Around him, saffron-robed men with shaved heads and gold-bead necklaces walk alongside; one at left has long curly hair, a rudraksha mala, and a bare chest with white body markings, wearing a patterned lungi. A man at far left wears a grey beard and a saffron shawl. Several figures carry mobile phones.2012-02-08A group walks along a covered temple veranda with tiled floor past a blue-walled shrine whose gold-framed entrance bears Tamil script. In the centre a man with long swept-back dark hair wears a saffron-orange robe and a rudraksha mala, carrying a small object and walking barefoot. Beside him a bearded man in a saffron shawl over white clothes walks with a white necklace visible. Behind them several bare-chested men in white dhotis and saffron wraps, a man in an orange shawl over a light robe, and men in white shirts and dhotis follow. Potted plants and palm trees line the right side. Several people are visible, including partially visible ones behind the front group.2006-11-27May 22 20122012-05-22 +2 copies
