Night-time photograph at a temple courtyard showing a large black stone Nandi statue, the bull of Shiva, lying on a stone plinth draped with a yellow marigold garland. Brass plates with lamps and offerings sit in front of it. Behind, several seated men in white dhotis, some bare-chested, and a seated woman in an orange sari sit on steps lined with red flags and a mesh railing, with strings of small lights overhead. The men appear to be devotees or priests attending the Karthigai Deepam observance; a figure at left wears a red cloth draped over his lap. Dense foliage fills the upper right.

Close view of a dark stone Nandi bull statue with a carved face, decorated with flower petals of red, pink and yellow and a yellow kumkum mark on its forehead, with a beaded necklace around its neck. Behind it a blurred stone pillar and a small lit oil lamp glow. At the right edge, a partially visible person in orange clothing stands near the statue. No readable text is visible.

A dark stone Nandi bull murti sits on a low pedestal, its head and neck draped with a garland of red and yellow flowers, with a rope of strung chains and bells across its chest. Scattered petals and marigold blossoms lie on the base and steps. Incense smoke rises in the background beside a weathered red and ochre stone pillar. At the right edge, a partially visible person in orange robes sits with a bare arm. Dark foliage and a blue tarp fill the background.

Strings of small coloured lights hang from a pole at upper right, and a paved courtyard extends into the dark background. No physical people are visible; the statue is the only subject.

A dark stone Nandi bull statue sits on a red stone pedestal at night, its neck draped with a beaded necklace and rudraksha-like strands. Behind it stands a tiered red-and-stone shrine, with a small lit oil lamp, a garland of orange and yellow marigolds, and brass pots on the platform. Thin strings of flowers hang along the ledge. At the far left edge, a partially visible person in orange clothing sits near a blue cloth. The scene is a temple setting with no people in focus.

A night-time temple scene at a black stone Nandi bull statue, seated on a red-painted pedestal with garlands and scattered flowers at its base. A shaved-headed young sannyasi in an orange dhoti and saffron shawl, bare-chested with a rudraksha mala and white ash markings on his forehead and arms, stands at right holding a brass plate with offerings, apparently performing a puja. Behind him a lit oil lamp and a tiered stone shrine are visible. At far left, two orange-clad devotees sit partly visible under a blue cloth. Strings of small lights decorate the pedestal edge.

Outdoor temple ritual at a large black stone Nandi bull statue, garlanded with multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, purple, white and green. Several bare-chested priests in white dhotis with rudraksha malas and gold necklaces attend the statue on red brick steps, one pouring water over the Nandi. A metal pot and brass vessels sit nearby, with a bright light source above. Behind a metal railing, a crowd of devotees watches, and tall trees and orange flags fill the background. The Nandi statue and priests are the focus of an abhishekam-style ceremony.
