They sit with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, eyes closed in prayer, as if chanting or in devotion. In front of them is a long table laid with brass plates, small brass lamps, cups, a kalasha-like vessel, flowers, and offerings of fruit and sweets. Red curtains hang behind them, and an older woman in white stands partially visible at the right edge. No a person is visible in this image.2013-09-21September 21 20162016-09-21A photograph of a crowded ritual hall during a Maheshwara Puja style food offering. In the centre, a man with curly dark hair, bare-shouldered and wearing an orange and gold saffron cloth, stands with his back to the camera and white ash lines on his upper arm, holding a rudraksha mala on his wrist. Around him, several boys and young men in orange and gold-bordered cloths and rudraksha malas hold and eat food offerings, one with a hand raised to his mouth. A bald man in orange on the right also wears a rudraksha mala. A tiled wall with a red-brown panel and a glimpse of a white-clad attendant appear in the background.2016-02-23
