A shirtless man wearing a yellow-and-gold turban, a gold bead necklace and a yellow dhoti with a red border sits at the right, one hand resting over a brass bowl near a basket of sticks. Behind the fire, kalasha pots decorated with flowers and a red-draped figure are arranged, and a crowd of men in white dhotis and shawls, some with garlands, watch in the dim evening light. A microphone stands at the left edge. Nobody visible is identified as a person.2015-08-09Night outdoor homa in progress at a temple-style ritual site. A large yellow square fire pit with a bright flame sits in the foreground, decorated with purple floral garlands and white rangoli-style patterns. Behind it, a red-robed priest wearing a red turban and rudraksha mala pours offerings into the fire, while another red-turbaned priest beside him tends the flame. Several shirtless men in white dhotis with gold borders stand and sit around the area, some holding plates. On a striped cloth sit brass plates of pink flowers, sweets, kumkum, and lit oil lamps. Gold-framed decorative arches and a speaker stand are visible in the background. Whether the person in the orange and red robes is a person cannot be established from appearance alone.2017-09-17November 23 20162016-11-23
