A man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala stands on the platform, gripping a white rope that runs up toward the pillar top. A man in white dhoti and shawl with a garland and a silver tray stands beside him, gazing upward. A third man in orange robe and a dark-red-bordered cloth stands at lower right holding a gold-coloured tray of lamps or offerings. Another figure in white stands at the far right edge. A man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala raises one hand in blessing while standing barefoot on the platform. Beside him, a bald priest in white dhoti and shawl with maroon borders holds a brass plate and stands on a metal step. Coconut palms and a pale sky are in the background.2010-09-13Low-angle photograph of a tall copper flagstaff or dhvaja stambha with ringed segments and a decorated top, its base wrapped in yellow marigold garlands and carved with a small figure. Two monks in saffron-orange robes stand on a red-tiled platform: one in the foreground at right with a bare shaved head and draped orange cloth, and a second at centre pulling an orange rope that runs up the pole. A small figure in red is suspended partway up the pole on a line, and a saffron cloth flutters from the shaft. A large corrugated roof edge and palm fronds frame the left and right, with a camera visible at left and a purple logo sticker at lower left.2010-11-06Outdoor photo of a tall copper flagstaff with a carved wooden-and-metal base decorated with yellow and purple flower garlands and a small carved figure niche. A man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and dark hair pulls a rope to raise the flag, while a bald priest in white dhoti with maroon borders holds a silver tray. A third person in orange kneels at the lower right beside a brass plate with oil lamps. Palm trees and a pale sky sit behind the scene, on an orange-tiled platform.2010-09-13A photograph of a tall copper flagstaff with a carved wooden base, standing on a terracotta-coloured platform under a partly cloudy sky with coconut palms behind. A figure in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala raises an orange cord up the pole, with an orange flag bundle hanging from it, as part of a flag-hoisting ritual. To the right, a second person in orange robes stands holding a brass plate. The carved base shows figures and ornamental panels.2010-10-18 +1 copiesA low-angle photograph of a tall copper dhwaja (flagstaff) wrapped with orange cords, its base carved with figures, standing on a red-painted platform scattered with marigold petals under a bright sky and coconut palms. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at the base: one stands upright holding a small silver cup or vessel and wears a beaded rudraksha-style mala; the other, bent forward at the waist, offers a tray or plate toward him. The scene suggests a flagstaff ritual, consistent with the page's dhwajarohanam album title.2010-10-18 +1 copiesAugust 27 20162016-08-27Outdoor photograph of a dhwajarohanam flag-hoisting at a tall copper dhwaja stambha (flagstaff) rising from a white platform, wrapped in white and red flower garlands and marigold strands at its base. An orange saffron flag is being raised up the pole by a person in orange robes and a white flower garland with a red-and-white bead necklace, pulling the rope with both hands while looking upward.
