A copper dwajastambha flagstaff with a carved base stands on a white platform, wrapped in white rope and draped with white jasmine, marigold and yellow-red flower garlands. Beside it, a man in orange-saffron robes and a sleeveless orange top raises one hand and holds a rope pulling the flagpole, a brass plate with orange cloth at his feet, palm trees behind.

Upward-angled photo of a tall copper flagstaff (dhvaja stambha) rising from a carved wooden base wrapped with green leaves, grass tufts and white and red flower garlands, with a copper finial at the top. A man in an orange-brown dhoti and a long multi-strand red and white flower garland stands at the right, arms raised and pulling ropes attached to the pole, in the act of raising the flagstaff. A palm tree and bright blue sky fill the background, with a corrugated roof edge at upper left.

Low-angle photo of a tall copper flagstaff (dhvajastambha) with a carved wooden-and-copper base wrapped in garlands of white jasmine and yellow marigolds, green leaves tied at its midsection, and a red-and-white flag at the top. A single man in dark maroon dhoti and maroon shawl, wearing a red and orange flower garland and gold ornaments, hauls on a rope to raise the flag. Coconut palms and a tree stand behind under an overcast sky.

Low-angle photograph of a tall, slender ornate metal flagstaff or dhvaja stambha rising from a carved stone base decorated with floral garlands in yellow and magenta. A person in a red-orange dhoti and red shawl with gold-bordered edges stands at the base, raising the flagstaff with orange ropes wrapped around their hands and arms; a red-orange cloth is tied near the top. Coconut palm fronds and a pale sky fill the background.

Low-angle photo of a tall copper dhvajastambha flagpole rising from a carved stone base wrapped in yellow and pink flower garlands. A red cloth flutters near the top, and ropes run up to a pulley. In the lower right, a man in red dhoti and red shawl with gold border, wearing a white bead garland, raises his arms to pull the rope. Another person in orange cloth stands at the right edge. Palm fronds and a corrugated roof frame the scene.

A tall copper flagstaff, ornately tiered with a carved finial at top, rises against a pale blue sky, with saffron-orange cloth banners tied near its top and a garland of marigolds and yellow flowers wrapped around its carved base. Two people in orange clothing pull on ropes to raise or secure the pole, a tall coconut palm stands at right, and the shoulder of a second orange-clad person appears at the bottom edge. The scene appears to be a flag-raising at an outdoor ritual setting. The figure in the foreground wears a sleeveless orange top and his face is turned away from the camera.

A man in saffron-orange robes and a red undershirt stands on a white platform beside a tall copper flagstaff, pulling a white rope with one raised hand. The copper pillar's base is wrapped in white jasmine garlands with red, yellow and orange flower strands, and small copper shrine motifs decorate its lower section. Coconut palms and a pale sky form the background, and a brass plate sits near his feet. This appears to be a dwajarohanam, the flag-hoisting rite at a temple. The man has shaved-looking short dark hair and a tilak mark, and his clothing and presence are consistent with a sannyasi performing the rite, though his identity cannot be confirmed from appearance.
