The man has a white horizontal tilak and a red dot on his forehead. A red woven mat lies in the foreground beside a brick wall and trees. The man's appearance shows several cues such as the saffron-orange robe, ornate gold necklace and forehead markings, but identity remains uncertain from appearance alone, so he is described by role as a sannyasi-clad man and the white-clad attendant is a priest or assistant.
