A large open flame rises from a square fire pit built of pale stone or brick blocks. Scattered marigold and red flower petals and yellow and red blossoms lie on the ledges around the pit, with a few marigold garlands hanging at the top of the frame. A thin dried stalk lies across the right side. No people are visible; the image is a close view of a homa-style fire pit with offerings.

A photograph of a fire ritual at night. A large open flame burns on the right, rising high beside a dark stone platform. In the centre, a red cloth-wrapped bundle sits on a pile of dry sticks and small offerings, with green leaves and garlands around it. Smoke drifts across the scene, and a low band of flowers in green, red and yellow lines the front edge. No people are visible.

Close view of a homa or yagna fire burning on a stepped altar built from yellow-ochre blocks dotted with red kumkum marks and scattered white flower petals or puffed grains. Flames rise from wooden logs in the centre. Behind the fire, a person in orange-red robes stands, with only the lower body and a hand visible. Two women in red and orange saris are partly visible at the left edge, one wearing gold bangles. A white marble-like structure and red flowers appear at the top right. No face of the robed figure is shown, so no one is identified.

A photograph of a homa fire burning inside a rectangular brick fire pit. Bright orange flames rise from a bed of thin dry sticks and logs. Pink flower petals and blooms are placed on the reddish-brown bricks around the pit. Behind the pit, a white flower garland and two decorative white and gold vessels sit on a white cloth. No people are visible in the frame.

A brick-lined fire pit blazes at the centre, flames rising from burning wood and offerings. Marigold and red flower petals are scattered over the bricks. Behind it, a partially visible person in white dhoti and a wristwatch reaches toward the fire, holding an object. On the right stands a low table draped with a yellow and red floral cloth, bearing green coconuts, an orange fruit, and a brass plate of offerings. Striped cloths cover the floor on the left, with a bowl of grains at the lower left. This appears to be a homa or yagna fire ritual.
