A group of about ten men play drums and wind instruments. Several wear white dhotis with gold borders and bare upper bodies, with rudraksha malas and red armbands. Others wear saffron-orange cloth wrapped at the waist and draped over the body. One player blows a long brass horn, and others beat large frame drums with sticks and hand-held drums. The setting is dim, lit by ambient light, and the scene suggests a temple-style drumming procession.2015-11-15Night procession on a dark road. Three drummers lead the way: on the left, a man in white dhoti with gold border and a white forehead band plays a drum with yellow lacing; in the centre, a shaved-headed man in orange cloth with tripundra markings, rudraksha mala and beaded bracelets carries a leopard-print drum slung over his shoulder; on the right, a young man in orange cloth with a red bindi and beaded necklace carries a second leopard-print drum. Behind them, orange and gold ceremonial umbrellas and a brightly lit shrine-like float with a deity murti are visible, along with other people in white.2015-11-11A photograph of a crowded festival procession at night with drummers in the foreground. Two young men in front play small hand drums; the one on the left wears a white dhoti with gold borders and a rudraksha mala, the centre drummer wears an orange saffron cloth with gold trim and a long rudraksha mala. Behind them, people in orange and white ritual clothes play large drums and horns, with vibhuti marks on their foreheads. Spectators fill the background. The scene suggests a temple procession, with an orange and red fabric canopy overhead.2016-03-07Night photograph of a courtyard where five young drummers perform a percussion procession. Four bare-chested drummers in saffron-orange dhotis with gold-bordered hems play round drums with pink sticks, wearing rudraksha malas, white forehead markings and turbans or hair swept back. One drummer in white dhoti stands among them, and a fifth drummer wearing a silver-coloured drum is on the right edge. Behind them, two men in orange and cream clothing stand with hands folded near a red pillar, with a hanging decorative cloth and flowering plumeria trees in the background.2016-10-21November `4 2015 +1 copiesJuly 07 20152015-07-07September 28 20172017-09-28 +1 copiesSeptember 28 20172017-09-28 +1 copies
