February 10 20162016-02-10A photograph of a seated group of devotees in white clothes with red-and-orange shawls, many with cropped or short hair, gathered in a temple-like hall with red walls and stone pillars. In the centre, a man in a white kurta sits cross-legged with his hands raised near his face, attentive to the room. To the right, a large brass trident stands beside a lit oil lamp and a brass kalasha-style finial. Several attendees sit close behind, and more people are seated toward the back and sides. The scene suggests a satsang or meditation session.2016-02-10 +1 copiesA large seated audience in white clothing with red shawls fills a warmly lit hall during a session. Many participants wear white kurtas, white salwar or dhoti-style garments, and red-orange stoles draped over their shoulders; several wear name badges on lanyards. People sit on mats and cushions, some with hands folded or resting on their knees, watching toward the front. At left, brass oil lamps with lit flames and a brass stand are visible near the front, and a video camera on a tripod is at upper right. Many men and women wear white ritual clothing with orange-red lanyards, and several men wear orange-red shawls and rudraksha malas. A man in the centre foreground has a white forehead mark and wears white with a mala. Purple patterned backdrops and warm lights frame the stage area behind the rows of attendees. Stage-side and balcony rows continue into the distance, and the people shown are seated devotees rather than a stage performance.
