Beside him a young priest in saffron cloth and a rudraksha-style mala carries a tray of flowers. In the centre a man with long dark hair, a saffron headband, saffron robes and a long beaded necklace stands with hands folded, facing a large seated figure dressed in orange cloth and heavily garlanded with yellow, red, white and purple flowers. A small figure in orange and flower garlands sits at the lower left. Behind them are a purple-draped and orange-draped altar, a metal railing and a corrugated roof.2010-12-27Photograph of a festival procession under a temporary tent with red carpet and a white canopy strung with flags and lights. In the foreground, a man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala walks beside a bearded man in a dark maroon-brown wrap, wearing a red-and-orange turban, a heavy gold necklace, a white flower garland and gold armlets, both barefoot. Behind them, a ceremonial palanquin decorated with silver umbrella, banana plants, marigold garlands and a deity shrine is carried forward. Robed women in saffron, red, purple and white saris line the procession, some holding brass lamps or trays, with devotees standing behind a rope on both sides. A raised wooden platform with a gold-trimmed edge stands on the right, and a video camera is visible in the background.2016-12-03August 20 20142014-08-20 +1 copiesDecember 11 20112011-12-11December 12 20162016-12-12A photograph of a temple ritual in an orange-draped setting.
