A shaven-headed priest in orange-saffron robes with a gold-toned necklace pours liquid from a golden vessel over a golden-coloured statue beneath an ornately carved gold arch. The statue, a standing figure with a raised hand and white dhoti, is coated with the flowing liquid. A woman in a white sari with red bindi stands partially visible at left, and a white figure sits at the lower right edge. Hanging rudraksha-style beads and pink flowers decorate the upper background, with a small golden kalasha-like object at the bottom.2011-03-03December 19 20102010-12-19December 12 20162016-12-12A photograph of a priest in an orange-red garment pouring a golden liquid from a brass vessel over a standing golden statue of a man. The priest, wearing an orange shawl and a gold chain, stands at left with one hand on the vessel and bangles on his wrist. The statue, a gilded figure with raised right palm and white dhoti, is set within an ornate gold arched frame. Behind them hang red cloth, a strand of rudraksha beads, and a bouquet of pink and yellow flowers with green leaves. The scene resembles an abhishekam ritual performed on a murti.2011-03-03A golden-bronze standing statue of a male deity figure is being anointed with a liquid poured from a silver vessel held by a person's hand at the upper left. Honey or oil-like substance drips over the face, chest and yellow-gold dhoti, with clumps of offerings clinging to the shoulders and waist. Behind, a blurred orange-robed figure sits near yellow and purple marigold garlands and white draped cloth. The statue is the central subject; no physical people are clearly in the foreground beyond the pouring hand.2010-12-19 +1 copiesDecember 19 20102010-12-19A shaven-headed priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl with gold-coloured beads around his neck pours liquid from a golden vessel over a gilded statue. The statue is a standing male figure with hair and a draped dhoti, its hand raised in abhaya mudra, set within an ornately carved gold arch. Strings of red and brown beads hang above, with flower garlands and green leaves at the base. Abhishekam is being performed on the murti.2011-03-03 +1 copiesA golden metallic statue of a standing male figure, bare-chested with a yellow-gold dhoti or cloth wrapped at the waist, raising its right hand in a blessing gesture (abhaya-like) with the left arm lowered. A garland or pile of yellow-orange flowers sits on its head. Behind it, blurred, are yellow and magenta marigold garlands draped over a purple cloth backdrop, a white-draped platform, and a figure in orange seated on a throne-like seat. The statue is a depiction, not a living person, so no physical people are counted in the foreground; a partially visible hand appears at the left edge.2010-12-19October 07 20112011-10-07A photograph of an abhishekam being performed before a deity murti decorated with dense garlands of red, yellow, purple and white flowers. A woman in a rudraksha headband and rudraksha mala, wearing gold bangles and a dark red-and-gold garment, pours water from a vessel over the murti, which is dressed with a red cloth. A shaved-headed man in an orange-red garment and rudraksha beads holds a silver vessel beside her, and a second shaved-headed man in white stands at the left edge. Water streams down onto the stone base as the flower-draped deity glows in warm lamplight.2015-02-17 +1 copiesNovember 01 20112011-11-01December 12 20162016-12-12
